The Eco Social

Here at Kalliste  we were itching to create a fun meetup group to bring likeminded "Green," individuals together! We brainstormed and came up with "The Eco Social!" The Eco Social will be a networking and hang out group starting on Tuesday, March 13th 2012, and continuing ever other Tuesday following. So come join us at 7 pm, meet some cool ecofriendly business owners and other people, and have a glass of wine! Vintology Wines has been kind enough to offer us their sponsorship, and we are excited to start this partnership with them as we launch our new social group. We promise it will be a good time! Here at Kalliste Soap Shop, we are always thrilled to partner up with other individuals and businesses who aim to create a positive impact in the world. One of these people is Joanna Puciata, founder of Heal ‘N Glow, her own company focusing on holistic health coaching. Joanna focuses on helping each customer with his or her own personalized health plan, including a personalized skin care regimen, which is where we come in. When Joanna founded Heal 'N Glow, she did not realize that soap would be a product she needed to focus on. “I ignored the soaps, thinking there can be nothing in them that can harm. Wrong!,”

Joanna soon realized that soaps could be just as harmful as improperly crafted cosmetics and facial products. Going with her belief that “Anything you put into the skin, including the products you wash with, goes into the bloodstream where there are no enzymes to help the body cope with the toxins,” Joanna realized the dangers to our bodies of chemical and animal made soap, and partnered with Kalliste to offer her customers a truly clean inside and out life experience.

Tea Tree & Black Clay Soap

Joanna’s Holistic health coaching teaches her clients how to be completely healthy in every aspect of their lives. In her own words, “I counsel people into health, but for me that means holistically, from top to bottom. Wholesome diet, stress reduction, exercise, exfoliation, detoxification, good skincare including good soaps made out of rich butters and oils, without artificial fragrances and colors gives a brand new quality of life, and allows us to lead a healthy life.”

Oatmeal Vanilla Soap

At Kalliste, we produce personalized private label soap that work for Joanna and her business. The scents of these special soaps include oatmeal vanilla, tea tree and black clay, and Candy Land glycerin. Oatmeal vanilla is one of our signature popular soaps, it gently exfoliates while soothing dry and rashy skin. The tea tree and black clay is a great body and face soap, as it naturally helps with acne, using tea tree oil as a natural astringent and black clay to draw out impurities. Candy Land glycerin soap is a custom Heal ‘N Glow product, unscented with fun colors this soap is great for children or anyone with very sensitive skin.

Grand Opening of Green Beauty Organics

Green Beauty Organics in Powell, Ohio

We’re happy to announce a new wholesale soap partnership with Green Beauty Organics who recently opened their doors in Powell, Ohio, gracing the town with a beautiful new shop focusing on all organic and natural products.

Along with offering wonderful beauty products like skin care products, makeup, perfumes, and also massage oil and teas, Green Beauty Organics teamed up with Kalliste to also offer logs of organic and vegan soap, cut to size for each customer. Check out some of their custom signature scents like “Hippie Chic” and “Land of Oz”.

According to owner Christina Crosa, Green Beauty Organics' mission is to be “Green through and through!” Local customers seeking eco-friendly, high quality green products, look no more! All of the materials used to create GBO are green. The soaps are natural and even the furniture is repurposed!

A lively pop soap shop located in Scarsdale, NY, Westchester County has an opening for a Sales Representative. Position is part-time telecommute at your own pace and place. Compensation is commission based and commensurate with experience.

Applicants are required to have a bubbly personality with good social skills, comfort and ease in approaching and conversing with potential clients as well as an eloquent writing style. Writing sample may be requested. Must own and have good knowledge of working with a computer. Previous experience in sales or cold calling will be greatly taken into consideration as will ease of communication.

Candidate is expected to contact potential wholesale clients (via telephone and email), present products, keep track of orders and follow up with them. We use a CRM software for logging work for which training will be supplied.

Thanksgiving at the Soap Shop

The season of holidays has arrived and we have some great things in store and in stock! Our recently added Pumpkin Pie Soap has been the best selling gift item for the season, making a cute addition to a holiday gift basket or even just on its own in a clear baggie adorned with a gift message and some ribbon or in a suiting little bakery box. The sweet and spicy aromas of this adorable pie soap catch every customers nose as they walk in, and then smell even more delightful in the bath and shower as they lather up. This pie soap, paired with a cupcake soap or two make a great gift for visiting someone over the holidays, especially if they have a sweet tooth or enjoy making pastries!
We've also updated our website to a sleeker, more modern look. Like the previous website you have the option of assembling a Gift Basket of gourmet soap online, which we will then decorate and deliver for you, or make it available for pickup at the shop! A new feature on the site however is our gourmet soap Gift Certificate. This Thanksgiving we would like to say Thank You to the Village of Scarsdale. Kalliste Soap Shop opened its doors 7 months ago and was immediately welcomed by the community. A Bar of Hope

Do you ever wonder what happens to those tiny bars of soap in hotel showers after they have been used only a few times by a guest? Does it get thrown away? Not if the non-profit Global Soap Project can help it.

The Global Soap Project reprocesses and distributes those barely used bars to vulnerable communities in Afghanistan, Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon and Swaziland, preventing millions of avoidable deaths due to poor hygiene. To date, 75 tons of that soap has been saved and distributed worldwide.

Kalliste Soap Shop, a local Scarsdale soap manufacturer and retailer, is joining in GSP’s ongoing efforts and is kicking off its collaboration by hosting a Cocktail Party to raise awareness and funds for GSP.

“The resourcefulness of this project is remarkable. We are behind them 100% and will do whatever we can to help.” says Marie Labropoulos, owner of Kalliste. As part of its ongoing contribution to GSP, Kalliste Soap Shop will introduce a new scented bar, Bar of Hope, as part of its collection of gourmet, organic, and vegan handmade soaps and will be donating 50% of the profits to GSP. “I’m really excited about the opportunity GSP gives us to help out those less fortunate, and eager to play a role in eradicating preventable disease around the world,” says Labropoulos.

The event will be held on August 11th, 2011 starting, 5:30pm till 8:00pm at Kalliste’s retail store on 30 Garth Rd., Scarsdale, NY 10583.
